European shares fall ahead of key economic data
European shares fell at the open on Wednesday ahead of key economic data from the region.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index fell 0.5% to 515.25 points, weighed down by luxury goods stocks.
The UK’s FTSE 100 lost 0.5%.
A raft of key economic data is due later in the day, including preliminary euro zone third-quarter GDP figures and October consumer confidence data, while investors are also awaiting Britain’s budget.
