Al-Jadaan heads the Kingdom’s delegation to the meetings of IMF, WB and G20 Finance Ministers to discuss global economic policy priorities

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, heads the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank for the year 2024, and the fourth meeting of the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, which will be held in the US capital, Washington, during the period from October 21-26, 2024.

The delegation includes Ayman bin Mohammed Al-Sayari, Governor of the Saudi Central Bank, Abdulmohsen bin Saad Al-Khalaf, Deputy Minister of Finance, Khalid Bawazir, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for International Relations, and Dr. Riyadh Al-Khorayef, Deputy Chairman of the International Monetary and Financial Affairs Committee of the International Monetary Fund, in addition to a number of specialists from the Ministry of Finance, the Saudi Central Bank, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, and the National Debt Management Center.

During this participation, Al-Jadaan will chair the meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee of the International Monetary Fund, which aims to exchange views among committee members on developments in the global economy, discuss global economic policy priorities and the role of the Fund in dealing with these developments by providing advice and building technical capacities for member states, and providing financial support to countries in need. Al-Jadaan and Al-Sayyari will also participate in the fourth meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the G20 under the Brazilian presidency to discuss a number of global economic and development issues, and explore ways to enhance multilateral cooperation to meet the challenges of the global economy. The annual meetings bring together finance ministers, central bank governors, leaders of international organizations and the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations, and academics to discuss the most prominent global financial and economic developments, in addition to other important topics such as sustainable development, global financial stability, and ways to eradicate poverty.
