The US Treasury announced on Thursday its intention to offer a new amount of long-term bonds for subscription during the coming week, with a total value of $183 billion.
The ministry stated that it will offer two-year bonds worth $69 billion, and five-year bonds worth $70 billion, and will conclude the offering week by selling seven-year bonds worth $44 billion.
The Treasury is scheduled to announce the results of the subscription for two-year bonds next Tuesday, five-year bonds on Wednesday, and seven-year bonds subscription results next Thursday.
Last month, the ministry sold two-year bonds worth $69 billion, and five-year bonds worth $70 billion, and concluded the offering week by selling seven-year bonds worth $44 billion. Demand for two-year bonds was slightly above average, for five-year bonds around average, and for seven-year and tenor bonds below average.
The US Treasury also sold $16 billion in 20-year bonds on Tuesday, with the offering being undersubscribed.
