SDAIA, Microsoft Launch ALLaM Arabic Language Model on Azure

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) and Microsoft have announced that ALLaM, SDAIA’s Arabic Large Language Model, is now available on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. This move aims to boost artificial-intelligence (AI) services in Arabic and foster innovation in Saudi Arabia and globally.

The announcement was made at the Global AI Summit (GAIN Summit), which is taking place in Riyadh from September 10-12.

ALLaM, developed by the SDAIA-affiliated National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) has achieved significant recognition, recently winning first place in its category according to the Arabic MMLU benchmark.

Tuesday’s announcement is part of a broader AI collaboration between SDAIA and Microsoft that includes the establishment of a center of excellence to accelerate the development of generative AI solutions and the launch of a Microsoft academy to build national talent and expertise in AI and advanced technologies.
