The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has advanced in the Global Talent Ranking for 2024 issued by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), to third place in the Arab world, and 32nd globally.

The ranking of Arab countries in the index was: UAE 17 Kuwait 31 Saudi Arabia 32 Qatar 42, while Switzerland topped the list for the eleventh year in a row, as the most competitive country in the world in terms of talent, according to the IMD Global Talent Ranking 2024, indicating its strong and stable talent pool despite the rapidly changing global landscape.

The ranking measures the performance of economies around the world when it comes to maintaining their talent pool. This year, the list was developed through a combination of survey responses and concrete data from the IMD World Competitiveness Center and external sources across 67 economies worldwide.

The data is divided into three categories: investment in and development of domestic talent, attractiveness (how well a country taps into the talent pool abroad) and readiness (the availability of skills and competencies in the talent pool), according to the report.

The index selected these as the 10 most competitive economies for talent worldwide:

  1. Switzerland
  2. Singapore
  3. Luxembourg
  4. Sweden
  5. Denmark
  6. Iceland
  7. Norway
  8. Netherlands
  9. Hong Kong
  10. Austria
