HRH the Crown Prince announces launch of “Riyadh Non-Profit Foundation”

HRH, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, announced today the launch of the “Riyadh Non-Profit Foundation” and the formation of its Board of Directors, which was established by royal decree, and is to be an independent institution of a special nature, under the umbrella of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. The Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City issued a decision to form the Board of Directors of the Foundation, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City – may God protect him – and to appoint Eng. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sultan, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, as Vice President and Secretary-General of the Board, with the membership of: Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Sports, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region, Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, Eng. Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib, Minister of Tourism, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, Minister of Health, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, Minister of Education, and Fahd bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Rasheed, Advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. This announcement of the launch of the foundation comes to achieve its goals in supporting and developing institutional and social work in all its forms, encouraging research, studies and social activities, and enhancing community contribution to developing non-profit sector programs in areas related to the foundation’s goals, in addition to establishing a culture of social work and enhancing its values. The launch is a pioneering step towards enhancing social development and innovation in the non-profit sector.

The “Riyadh Non-Profit Foundation” also focuses on achieving social development by empowering all segments of society, enhancing social cohesion and contributing to preserving the identity of the Riyadh community. In addition, the foundation will work with government agencies and non-profit institutions to develop job opportunities in the social sector.

The foundation also aims to be a pioneer – regionally and globally – in the fields of financing, designing and launching innovative social programs, supporting healthcare, education, arts and culture, enhancing the sustainable environment, and contributing to improving the quality of life and achieving social development in the Kingdom by building an integrated and interconnected system, establishing research centers and social project incubators, raising the level of community participation, managing affiliated entities efficiently and raising the level of their performance; To achieve the desired goals of its establishment and keep pace with what serves development priorities in light of the goals and pillars of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
