European shares fell for a fifth straight session on Friday, with caution prevailing ahead of the key US jobs report, the last piece of evidence on the state of the labour market before the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decision on Sept. 18.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index was down 0.4 percent by 0711 GMT. It has fallen 3 percent so far this week and is on track to end a four-week winning streak.
