Data revealed that the listed sukuk and bond issues recorded about 601.7 billion riyals by the end of the second quarter of this year. The value of companies’ ownership of sukuk and bonds amounted to 462 billion riyals, accounting for about 76.8% of the total value of issues, with a number of issues reaching 122 issues, while the ownership of sukuk and bonds by government and semi-government entities reached 26 issues amounting to about 120 billion riyals, or about 20% of the total value of issues.
According to the quarterly statistical bulletin issued by the Capital Market Authority, funds (including Gulf funds) own 33 issues in sukuk and bonds amounting to about 9.9 billion riyals by the end of the second quarter of 2024, or 1.6% of the total value of issues, while individual ownership of sukuk and bonds amounts to about 9.6 billion riyals, constituting about 1.6% of the total, and the number of issues reaches 49 thousand issues.
The total volume of Sukuk and bond issuances during the second quarter of this year increased by 6.70% to 601.7 billion riyals compared to the previous quarter, which was 563.9 billion riyals.
