China: Projects worth $13.4 billion signed at World Battery Congress

The World Battery Congress 2024 held in China witnessed the signing of 137 projects, with a total investment of 95.25 billion yuan (about 13.4 billion dollars).

The Chinese Xinhua News Agency reported that the conference, which started yesterday, Sunday, in Yibin City, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, attracted nearly 400 industry experts and corporate executives from home and abroad.

It explained that the conference, hosted by the Sichuan provincial government, aims to build an international cooperation platform for the development of the battery industry, and promote the high-quality development of green and low-carbon industries.

The first session of the conference was launched in 2022, and during its previous two sessions, more than 100 projects were signed with a total contracted investment of more than 200 billion yuan.
