The Royal Commission for Riyadh City is preparing to launch a tender in the coming period to establish the seventh line of the Riyadh train, which will connect the capital to the city of Qiddiya.
According to “MEED” magazine, the new seventh line of the Riyadh train project is being implemented in two phases, where the first phase includes building a line linking the city of Qiddiya, King Salman Park and the Diriyah Gate with a total length of about 65 kilometers.
The project includes 19 stations, 14 of which are underground and 5 are above ground, while the second phase of the line includes linking the Diriyah Gate to the new square and King Khalid International Airport, as the project is currently in the study phase.
The tender will be launched – according to what has been circulated – in the coming weeks.
According to the qualified companies, the project is being competed for by:
A group led by the French company Alstom in cooperation with the Spanish FCC and local companies such as Freysinnet Contracting and Nesma. The German group Siemens in cooperation with the South Korean Samsung C+T, the Spanish Acciona and the local Alayuni are also joining the competition, in addition to the Japanese group Hitachi Rail in cooperation with companies from South Korea and Spain and local contractors such as Almabani and Albawani.
