The Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC) has just exported its first recycled and heat-washed PET flakes to a major UK recycled PET bottle manufacturer, following its successful entry into the European market earlier this year with shipments to Spain, raising exports to over 1,650 tons.
The PET flakes are produced through SIRC’s joint venture project under YADOUM, MASAB.
In a press release issued today, SIRC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, said that its export of recycled PET flakes to the UK marks a significant step for YADOUM to enter the British market, a region with tremendous potential for importing recyclable materials.
The release said that SIRC is expanding its global reach and strengthening partnerships with key European companies. This collaboration is poised to drive innovation and the growth of the PET recycling industry, the release added.
SIRC Group CEO Engineer Ziyad bin Mohammed Al-Shiha said: “We take pride in contributing to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sustainability objectives through this initiative. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions, diverting waste away from landfills, and supporting the Saudi Green Initiative, SIRC plays a key role in empowering local industries and promoting a more sustainable future.”
