(Roshen League) ranks sixth globally in summer transfer deals, worth 783 million riyals

The contracts of recent weeks have raised the Saudi Professional League, which is now called (Roshen League), to sixth place in the list of the world’s most spending leagues on player deals in the world during the summer transfer period of the current year 2024.

According to available data, the spending of (Roshen League) clubs so far has amounted to about 187.8 million euros (783 million riyals). Al-Qadisiyah, owned by Aramco, and Al-Ittihad, in which the Public Investment Fund owns 75%, accounted for the largest share of the deals, as the contracts of the first, the champion of the Yelo League for the first division, amounted to 59 million euros to attract 12 players, while the other contracted with 6 players for a value of 82.43 million euros, according to the German network (Transfer Market).

The English Premier League topped the list of the highest spenders with a total of 1.79 billion euros (7.46 billion riyals), followed by the Italian League in second place with a total of nearly 725 million euros, to complete, and the French League came in third with about 617 million euros, while the German League came in fourth with a total of 534 million euros, and the Spanish League came in fifth with a total of about 429 million euros, while the Saudi League came in sixth with deals worth 187.8 million euros, then the English First Division League came in seventh with deals worth about 167 million euros. The transfer period for the new sports season in the Kingdom ends on September 2, 2024, and so far no deals have been recorded for players from the A category, similar to what happened in the past two years with the signing of the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo to represent Al-Nasr Club, the French Karim Benzema to Al-Ittihad Club, and the Brazilian Neymar to Al-Hilal Club.
