News increased with the start of the sports season in the Kingdom, about studying a project to transfer a group of local players to play abroad, most notably Firas Al-Brikan, Al-Ahly player – the most expensive Saudi player in terms of market value – and Saud Abdul Hamid, Al-Hilal player, the second most expensive Saudi player in terms of market value – who has one year left on his contract with his current club, amidst news indicating his refusal to renew and his demand that the club review the offers of European clubs interested in his services, including: Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest from England, Toulouse from France, and Roma from Italy. According to recent rumors, Al-Hilal club expressed its adherence to the player, and its complete rejection of his departure during the period of his contract, and its readiness to submit an offer to renew the contract with a high salary, as the international player is the most expensive Saudi player in terms of market value in the club at about 16 million riyals, but he is not among the top 5 players receiving wages in the team according to the Capology network, with news circulating indicating that the player is demanding a high amount like the rest of the team players. Al-Hilal club excluded the player from its last friendly matches in preparation for the current sports season, reflecting the club’s dissatisfaction with the player’s desire to leave before entering the free period (the last 6 months of the contract that allow him to transfer to another club without the approval of his club), which may explain the club’s fears about the player’s seriousness in his efforts to play abroad professionally, and the possibility of him waiting to enter the free period and sign with a competing local club, repeating the story of his departure from his previous club, and his transfer from Al-Ittihad club to Al-Hilal. It is noteworthy that Abdul Hamid (25 years old) played 34 matches with the national team, and achieved 5 titles with Al-Hilal Club, and is the player with the most participation in matches in the world during the past season, with 67 matches. It is noteworthy that there are a number of shy experiences for the local player, most notably Fahad Al-Ghasyan, who played for AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, Fouad Anwar for Shuang in China, Hussein Abdulghani in Neuchâtel Xamax in Switzerland, Sami Al-Jaber in Wolverhampton in England, Naji Majrashi in Ulsan in South Korea, Mazen Al-Hudhaifi, in addition to Ahmed Al-Dokhi in Qatar, Taisir Al-Jassim in Qatar and Kuwait, and Yasser Al-Qahtani in the Emirates. Abdul Malik Al-Jaber is currently playing professionally for Zeljeznicar Sarajevo in Bosnia, and is one of the outputs of the Saudi scholarship program to develop football talents, the national project that was launched in June 2019, with the aim of developing and growing Saudi talents in football, through contact with European football, and then feeding the Saudi national teams, as well as the possibility of joining European teams.
