French energy group Engie said on Friday its first-half profit fell 16% as a warmer-than-usual winter cut demand for gas to heat homes in Europe.
The company, which generates most of its income from producing, transporting and selling gas and electricity, said earnings before interest and tax, excluding nuclear, totaled 5.6 billion euros ($6.05 billion), down 16.3% on an organic basis.
