European markets closed higher on Wednesday, maintaining positive momentum after euro zone inflation unexpectedly rose.
The Stoxx 600 index closed up 0.79%, with technology stocks jumping 2.62%. Germany’s DAX index closed up 0.48%, France’s CAC gained 0.76% and Britain’s FTSE gained 1.13%.
Dutch chipmaker ASML led the charge, rising as much as 10% before paring gains somewhat after a Reuters report suggested the company could be exempted from expanded export restrictions on chipmaking equipment to China.
