US dollar and yen fell on Tuesday, giving up some of the gains they made earlier in the week.
Investors are focused on the imminent US interest rate cut, which is putting additional pressure on the dollar.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of six major currencies, fell 0.03% to 100.82 points.
The yen was last down 0.1% at 144.65 per dollar, after rising to a three-week high of 143.45 per dollar in the previous session.
The euro rose about 0.1% to $1.1172, while the pound sterling rose about 0.1% to $1.3201.
The Canadian dollar rose slightly to 1.34875 per dollar. The Australian dollar rose 0.23 percent to $0.6787. The New Zealand dollar also rose 0.34 percent to $0.6225.
