Aramco Launches Non-Profit Olfa to Support Stray Animal Welfare

Saudi Aramco has launched the Olfa Animal Care Company, a non-profit organisation focused on the welfare of stray animals. The initiative seeks to provide shelter and veterinary care and curb the risks posed by uncontrolled animal populations while promoting community awareness and responsible animal care practices across the Eastern Province and Saudi Arabia.

Olfa’s inaugural move includes signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Eastern Province Municipality. The agreement outlines joint efforts to manage stray animal populations, improve communication channels for reporting stray animals, and develop animal care and rehabilitation centres. The partnership will also work on raising community awareness about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership while offering a volunteer platform for those interested in animal care.

In its initial phase, the company will deploy mobile veterinary clinics in the Eastern Province, providing services like examinations, vaccinations, and sterilisations. Olfa also plans to open its first animal shelter in Dammam by 2025.

It will also enhance public safety and encourage volunteerism in animal welfare.”

The initiative reinforces Saudi Aramco’s commitment to enhancing quality of life and mitigating safety risks related to stray animals, while continuing its role in promoting biodiversity and community engagement.
