The World Bank said in a report published on its official blog that the percentage of workers who have at least one green skill rose by 12% between 2022 and 2023, while the percentage of job advertisements that require at least one green skill grew nearly twice as fast (22%).

According to CNBC, the bank confirmed that the challenge of the shortage of green skills is not new, as the share of green workers has increased by 5% annually, while job applications that require green skills have increased by 9% annually between 2018 and 2023.
