The Saudi Central Bank revealed that assets decreased to 1.895 trillion riyals by the end of last June, by about 16 billion riyals, or 0.83%, from their levels in May 2024, which were 1.911 trillion riyals.
According to the Central Bank’s bulletin for June 2024, which was issued a short while ago, assets increased by about 62.7 billion riyals, or 3.4%, from what they were in June 2023, which was 1.832 trillion riyals.
According to the bulletin, assets increased during June 2024 compared to the same month in 2023 as a result of a 5% increase in deposits in banks abroad, reaching 430.9 billion riyals, compared to 410.5 billion in 2023. Investments in securities abroad also increased to about one trillion riyals, by 6.5% compared to 2023, which was 967.4 billion riyals, while other assets decreased by about 19.2%, and foreign currency and gold increased by 3.7%. The assets of the Saudi Central Bank consist of foreign currency and gold, cash on hand, deposits in banks abroad, investments in securities abroad, in addition to other assets.
