Ayman Al-Sayyari, Governor of the Saudi Central Bank, called for coordinating and unifying global efforts to regulate crypto-asset activities.
He explained during the third meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 under the Brazilian presidency in the session on “Financial Sector Issues and Financial Inclusion”, that coordinating efforts to regulate crypto-asset activities aims to avoid exploiting loopholes in different systems and policies between countries.
He explained that the main risks facing the global economy in the medium term include escalating geopolitical conflicts and increasing concerns about economic fragmentation in the world’s economies, in addition to the implications of increasing opportunities for restrictions on international trade.
Al-Sayyari praised the role of the G20 in expanding the scope of the Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion to achieve financial well-being.
