Gaming and Esports Sector in Saudi Arabia Sees Global Success with Leadership’s Support, Says Prince Faisal bin Bandar

Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF), has expressed his pride and happiness following the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) announcement of a partnership deal with the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) extending for 12 years, through which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the first version of the Esports Olympics in 2025.

In remarks on the occasion, Prince Faisal extended his congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to HRH the Crown Prince on this achievement, which comes as an extension of the launch of the national strategy for gaming and esports in 2022 by HRH the Crown Prince.

Since then, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has written a historic story of success and made great strides towards global leadership in this sector, Prince Faisal bin Bandar said that this contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in diversifying the economy, providing job opportunities in various sectors, and offering high-level entertainment to citizens, residents, and visitors alike.

He stressed that the step pushed the esports sector locally to new international horizons, citing the holding of “Gamers Without Borders” and “Gamers Season” based on the National Gaming and Esports Strategy.
