Biden: US economy is strongest in the world after strong growth figures

US President Joe Biden confirmed that strong growth figures confirm that the United States has the strongest economy in the world.

Government data showed yesterday that the US economy grew faster than expected in the second quarter, driven by consumer spending and an increase in inventories despite expected interest rates, according to Agence France-Presse.

The Commerce Department said the world’s largest economy grew by 2.8% between April and June, up 1.4% in the first three months of the year.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen praised President Joe Biden on Thursday for the “remarkable economic recovery” and said that the GDP and inflation data in the second quarter confirmed that the United States is on its way “towards steady growth and declining inflation.”

She added that the strong growth in the United States, which has provided 15.7 million jobs since Biden and Harris took office, was not a coincidence, but rather the result of an economic plan put in place by their administration, and contributed to maintaining the strength of the global economy.
