Chinese imports fell suddenly last June, while exports rose more than expected.
According to data from the Chinese Customs Authority issued today, imports declined by about 2.3% last month on an annual basis, while expectations indicated a rise of 2.8%, according to “Reuters.”
As for exports, they rose by 8.6% in June on an annual basis, exceeding expectations for an 8% increase.
Since the beginning of 2024, Chinese imports and exports have increased by about 2% and 3.6%, respectively.
Chinese trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations grew by about 7.1% in the first half of this year, but declined at the European Union level.
As for Chinese trade with America, it declined slightly in the first 6 months of 2024, with imports decreasing by 4.9% and exports increasing by 1.5%.
