Reuters: Aramco in talks with two American companies regarding two separate natural gas projects

Reuters revealed that Saudi Aramco is in talks with two American companies regarding two separate liquefied natural gas projects, amid its efforts to expand gas trade and production.

According to the sources, Aramco is in talks with Tellurian to buy a stake in the Driftwood LNG terminal, which has a production capacity of 27.6 million tons annually and is located near Lake Charles in the US state of Louisiana.

According to the sources, Aramco is also holding talks with the American liquefied natural gas company “Next Dickey” in an effort to conclude a long-term agreement to purchase gas from a planned fifth processing unit at its facility in Rio Grande, valued at $18 billion.

Aramco seeks to strengthen its position in the liquefied natural gas market, which is expected to grow by 50% by 2030, especially in the United States, where it is expected that the production capacity of liquefied natural gas will nearly double over the next four years.
