European stocks rose in early trading, supported by tech sector

European stocks rose at the beginning of trading on Thursday, supported by gains in the technology sector, with a focus on interest rate decisions issued by several central banks in Europe today.

The European STOXX 600 index rose 0.3% by 07:13 GMT. The technology sector index led the gains, rising 0.7%, and the construction and building materials sector index likewise rose 0.7%.

ASM International shares gave a major boost to the technology sector index, as the semiconductor equipment manufacturing company’s shares jumped 4.1% after Morgan Stanley raised its recommendation for the stock.
