European stocks open steady, affected by a decline in health care sector

European stocks stabilized at the open on Wednesday, as losses in health care stocks limited gains, while British stocks faced pressure after the announcement of the latest inflation data in Britain.

The European STOXX 600 index settled at 515.25 points by 0711 GMT, and the health care sector was among the largest decliners, falling 0.5%.

On the other hand, the travel and entertainment sector index rose 0.7%, supported by a 2.3% rise in Accor shares.

At the same time, British inflation data revealed that inflation in Britain returned to the target rate of two percent in May for the first time in nearly three years. The British Financial Times Index fell 0.2% in the latest trading.

SMA Solar Technology shares fell 29% after the German company that supplies parts for solar power plants lowered its profit expectations, citing political uncertainty.
