The American technology and retail company, Amazon, announced an investment of 10 billion euros as demand for its cloud services and retail goods continues to grow in Germany, the largest economy in Europe.

The bulk of this investment, about 8.8 billion euros (about 9.46 billion dollars), will be allocated to expanding the cloud infrastructure of its computing unit, Amazon Web Service (AWS), by 2026, as Amazon sees increasing potential in the field of artificial intelligence in Europe, according to Reuters.

According to a new study on the economic impact of Amazon’s cloud services, the AWS investment plan is expected to contribute 15.4 billion euros, about 16.55 billion dollars, to German GDP during this period, while supporting an average of 15.2 thousand full-time jobs annually in the local supply chain.
