Saudi date exports increased by 13.7% during Q1 to SR 644 million

The National Center for Palms and Dates revealed that the value of the Kingdom’s exports of dates increased during the first quarter of the current year, 2024, to reach 644 million riyals, an increase of 13.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, 2023, when the value of its exports reached 566 million riyals.

The Kingdom’s exports of dates included a group of countries in terms of the increase and growth in the value of exports to them during the first quarter of the year 2024, as the percentage of the Kingdom’s exports of dates in many countries exceeded 100%, including for example (Austria, the Kingdom of Norway, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, and Canada), while the value of the Kingdom’s exports of dates to Morocco increased by 69%, Indonesia by 61%, South Korea by 41%, and Britain by 33%, in addition to the United States of America, which recorded an increase in the value of date exports to it. By 29%, the Kingdom’s exports of dates to Malaysia also increased by 16%.

These increases in exports come as a result of the unlimited support from the leadership for the palm and date sector, as the National Center for Palm and Dates seeks to develop this important sector in partnership with the private sector and relevant parties so that the Kingdom’s dates are the first choice for global consumers, in addition to the continuous effort to increase national exports of dates. and derivatives, facilitating export procedures and providing marketing services and necessary information about the sector.
