Gold prices recover from lowest level in two weeks

Gold prices rose today from their lowest level in two weeks, with traders evaluating the prospects for lowering US interest rates ahead of the release of important economic data later in the week.

Spot gold prices rose by 0.4% to reach $2,342.73 per ounce, and US gold futures contracts rose by 0.4% to reach $2,343.60.

Silver rose in spot transactions by 1.6% to reach $30.83 per ounce, platinum rose 1.4% to $1,040.25 per ounce, and palladium gained 1.4% to reach $976.72 per ounce.
