European stocks fell today, as a rise in global bond yields raised fears that interest rates will continue to rise for a longer period, even as investors wait for more economic data to increase bets on lowering interest rates.
By 07:08 GMT, the European STOXX 600 index fell 0.3%, with losses recorded in almost all markets and sectors in the region. According to Reuters.
The oil and gas sector was the only gainer among sectors in early trading, as it rose 0.8%, following the impact of the rise in oil prices.
Investors will now turn their focus to inflation data from Germany later in the day, which is expected to show some easing on a monthly basis in May.
