Major indices on Wall Street closed higher on Monday after shares of Alphabet and Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) supported the gains of the Nasdaq index, while investors awaited the Federal Reserve (US central bank) meeting this week.
According to Reuters, the Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose by 32.48 points, or 0.63 percent, to close at 5,149.57 points, while the Nasdaq Composite index rose 130.28 points, or 0.82 percent, to 16,103.46 points.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 73.44 points, or 0.19%, to 38,788.21 points.
