Saudi Aramco, UAE’s ADNOC to extract lithium from salt water in their oil fields

Three sources said that Saudi Aramco and the UAE’s ADNOC plan to extract lithium from salt water in their oil fields, in line with efforts to diversify the two countries’ economies and benefit from the shift to electric cars.

According to Reuters, Aramco and ADNOC are in the very early stages of work to extract lithium, which is a critical mineral in many major economies for use in manufacturing batteries.

Yesterday, sources revealed that Saudi Aramco and ADNOC are holding talks to invest in liquefied natural gas projects in the United States.
