Almasane Alkobra Mining Company (AMAK) informed its esteemed shareholders on Tuesday that the expansion project of the Almasane mine, specifically the development of the Moyeath orebody, is nearing completion. With construction phases almost finished and hot commissioning of the new processing plant largely done, achievement has reached 95%.
The company has initiated readiness tests for the Moyeath processing plant. Remarkably, the first Zinc and Copper concentrate cakes were successfully produced on March 25, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the project’s progress. AMAK anticipates achieving full commercial production capacity during the third quarter of 2024.
Notably, this new facility incorporates cutting-edge technology and processes aimed at significantly boosting production — Zinc output is expected to increase by 80% and Copper by 40%. This enhancement also comes with the production of Gold and Silver in associated quantities. Moreover, the advanced capabilities of the new plant are designed to lower production costs while improving both efficiency and the quality of the output, underlining AMAK’s commitment to excellence and innovation in the mining sector
