Thomas Toiver, CFO of the French aircraft company Airbus, confirmed that they are not happy with the many problems facing competition Boeing.

According to CNBC, Tuever said: We are not happy with the problems facing our competition. I think that is not beneficial for the industry, and if that is not beneficial for the industry, it is not beneficial for Airbus.

He added: We believe that we have very good products. We saw this in the very good increase in orders in 2023, and this continues in 2024.

Boeing is under intense pressure after a series of costly and reputation-damaging accidents.

The most recent of these accidents was the fall of part of the fuselage of a 737 Max 9 plane belonging to Alaska Airlines at the beginning of this year. Because of this accident, the American company is currently facing a lawsuit and investigations from the Federal Aviation Administration.

This incident came after two fatal accidents in 2018 and 2019 involving its best-selling 737-Max aircraft, which undermined public confidence in the company and raised questions about the quality of its oversight process.

At the same time, concerns have increased that aircraft makers are facing great pressure to increase production speeds as airlines face a capacity crisis.

In this context, Tuiver said that the way he looks at it is how can we be sure that these things will never happen with Airbus.

He continued: We are obsessed with this idea, so we have put more scrutiny into our production processes… and directed more focus towards long-term investments in products and technology.
