Minister of Energy: We are working on a program to localize the energy sector by 75%

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, revealed that the Ministry is working on a program to localize the energy sector by 75%, stressing that the energy sector has the best opportunities to achieve high localization more than other sectors.

The Minister of Energy continued during a speech he delivered on the sidelines of the Human Capacity Initiative: “The energy sector globally is suffering and is being viewed with difficulties,” adding: “According to global statistics, women’s participation in the energy sector represents 15%.”

Prince Abdulaziz added that work is continuing with other entities to develop human resources, indicating that there is an opportunity for the Ministry of Education and other ministries and training institutions to build capabilities, retain employees, and empower women.

The minister added, “We have a committee from various government agencies, and each team will work on research and development efforts and teams working on professional training,” noting that they cannot achieve any success without developing human resources and developing human capital.
