The largest US bank (JPMorgan) has signed a two-year deal to acquire the naming rights to the Messi Inter Miami Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The value of the sponsorship was not disclosed.
Leon Messi, the Argentine football legend, will join the American team Inter Miami in mid-2023 after leaving French champions Paris Saint-Germain, rejecting an offer believed to be higher than the Saudi club Al-Hilal. Messi (36 years old) has won the World Player of the Year award seven times and is expected to win it later this year after his country wins the World Cup in Qatar.
In an article written by Bobby Ghosh in his column in “Bloomberg” in mid-January, he mentioned that Argentine Leon Messi promised to bring profits and attention to the American team Inter Miami, but he did not attract international talent to the American League, as was planned.
Ghosh continued: When Messi announced his joining Inter Miami last summer, American soccer officials hoped that his brilliance and skills would attract more fans and revenues to Major League Soccer. At the same time, American fans hoped that his status would attract more international talent to the league.
