Hilton Group to establish 60 new hotels in the Kingdom

Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib, Minister of Tourism, welcomed the Hilton Hotel Group’s announcement of its commitment to continuing growth within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its plans to strengthen its presence by opening more than 60 new hotels throughout the Kingdom in the coming years.

The Ministry of Tourism’s attraction of leading international brands in the field of hotel and hospitality, such as the Hilton Hotel Group, comes in light of the Kingdom’s commitment to developing the tourism sector to provide world-class services, as it aims to increase the number of hotel rooms to more than 500,000 rooms by 2030, in line with The Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The Ministry is also working, through cooperation with the private sector, to enhance the tourism infrastructure in the Kingdom. It is expected that the major expansion planned by the Hilton Group in the Kingdom will contribute to providing distinctive opportunities for investors from around the world.

The Ministry of Tourism is keen to attract investors through the Kingdom’s government’s commitment to quality and sustainability in the tourism sector in order to achieve the goals of the vision to reach 150 million tourists by 2030, and increase the contribution of tourism to the gross domestic product by 10%.

For his part, Chris Nassetta, CEO of the Hilton Group, praised the development witnessed by the Kingdom in the infrastructure of the tourism sector, stressing that the group is working to expand to more destinations, noting that two-thirds of the group’s project portfolio in the Kingdom is currently under construction, and is working to double it by four. times across the Kingdom.

He explained that the group’s anticipated projects will provide approximately 10,000 job opportunities, more than half of which will be occupied by Saudi citizens, stressing that the group will continue its efforts to create a work environment focused on achieving goals, by concluding partnerships with academic institutions to provide training programs to enable Saudi citizens in All over the Kingdom in their quest to fill permanent jobs in the hospitality sector.
