Thomson Reuters said on Thursday that it had offered to buy the Swedish company Pajero, which specializes in the field of electronic invoices and tax transactions, for 6.4 billion Swedish krona (about 627 million dollars), which exceeds a previous offer submitted by the tax technology company Vertex.
According to Reuters, the news and information company added that it had offered to pay 40 crowns in cash for each Pajero share, which represents a premium of 11 percent above the closing price of Pajero shares on Wednesday.
Thomson Reuters’ offer exceeds the offer of 36 kroner per share announced by Vertex for Pajero.
In a separate statement, Pajero said that the Independent Bid Committee of the Board of Directors unanimously recommended accepting the public offer submitted by Thomson Reuters, and withdrew its recommendation to accept Vertex’s offer.
Thomson Reuters, the parent company of Reuters News, said Pajero’s electronic invoice compliance capabilities will expand its indirect tax offerings.
The company added in a statement that the offer acceptance period begins on or about January 12 and ends on or about February 9.
