The Transport General Authority (TGA) conducted more than 16 meetings with various companies in Silicon Valley, California, with the aim of advancing sustainable transportation. These meetings took place over a span of four days, utilizing the TGA’s participation in the 2024 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
Silicon Valley, globally renowned as a hub for innovation and advanced technology, is home to leading companies specializing in technology, energy, software, transportation, and logistics.
The Saudi delegation’s visit to Silicon Valley had the objectives of identifying investment trends in the transportation sector and learning about best practices in transport centers of excellence. In this context, the delegation explored the utilization of big data in the transport and logistics sector, as well as strategies for supporting research and development in the field. Furthermore, the delegation reviewed notable studies and ongoing projects in the field, discussing opportunities to enhance cooperation and knowledge exchange.
Throughout the three-day TRB Exhibit, the TGA actively participated by hosting a pavilion aimed at fostering collaboration and establishing relationships with transport specialists and other participants. The pavilion received a significant turnout, with the TGA presenting research papers and visual presentations to clarify its role in the Kingdom and its ambitious strategic objectives. The authority also highlighted its notable achievements contributing to the advancement of various sectors in Saudi Arabia, particularly the transport and logistics sector.
Capitalizing on the TRB meeting, recognized as one of the foremost annual gatherings in the global transport sector, the TGA organized over 20 meetings with companies and entities. These discussions focused on exploring avenues for collaboration in transportation and discussing strategies for training competent professionals within the sector.
