The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA) has signed four agreements to localize industry and transfer knowledge, including Sitagliptin Phosphate with Jamjom Pharma and MSD, Ticagrelor with Aja Pharma and Saudi Arabian-Japanese SAJA Pharmaceutical Company.
CEO of LCGPA Abdulrahman Al-Samari emphasized that the agreements underscore a sustainable partnership between the government sector and the private sector aimed at developing local content. He highlighted the authority’s commitment to expanding the mandatory list of products in alignment with convention requirements. All government agencies, state-owned entities, and public hospitals falling under the mandatory list mechanism will benefit from these agreements.
Al-Samari pointed out that the financial impact of pharmaceutical localization has surpassed SAR 250 million over a span of 10 years across all agreements. He underscored the authority’s dedication to fostering the development of new industries and sectors within the Kingdom, enhancing supply chains for products, and achieving self-sufficiency for the Kingdom.
