“Bloomberg” attributed a statement to the South African envoy to BRICS, in which he said that the membership of the group consisting of emerging market countries is scheduled to double, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iran, the Emirates, Ethiopia, and Egypt will join its ranks on January 1.

Only Argentina rejected the invitation after President Javier Miley, who took office this month, withdrew the membership application submitted by his predecessor.
