Minister of Energy: 1,200 stations installed to monitor solar ‎radiation and wind speeds throughout the Kingdom

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Energy, explained that the Ministry, as part of its commitment to achieving the Kingdom’s renewable energy goals and accelerating them, launched the geographical survey project, and the project is considered one of the qualitative projects that are being implemented at the national level on this large scale by installing about 1,200 From stations monitoring solar radiation and wind speeds across the Kingdom to provide reliable data and benefit from artificial intelligence techniques to determine the best locations for establishing solar and wind energy projects and to follow and predict weather fluctuations. It also uses artificial intelligence to follow up on encroachments on land reservations that include oil and gas facilities or pipelines, in addition to aspects of security and maintenance.
