Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef has stressed the availability of great opportunities to move ahead with enhancing the comprehensive partnership with Tunisia, according to the outcomes and objectives of the Saudi-Tunisian Committee and the unique advantages and potential of the two countries, including the distinguished geographical location and the visions of their leaderships for sustainable development and economic diversification, especially in industry, renewable energy, agriculture, increasing trade and exports, in addition to their natural resources that can be utilized to promote cooperation between the two countries.
In his speech at the opening of the Saudi-Tunisian Investment and Partnership Forum, held today at the headquarters of the Tunisian Union for Industry, Trade and Traditional Industries in the capital Tunis, with the participation of Tunisian Minister of Finance and interim Minister of Economy and Planning Sihem Nemsia, Alkhorayef said: “We meet today again, and we look forward together to building a better future for our peoples, based on the outcomes of the committee’s work since its first session, and on the historical decades-long relations between the two countries, since the signing of the agreement of friendship and cooperation between Tunisia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1966.”
He noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undergoing a major and qualitative leap in various fields under the Saudi Vision 2030, which has not only focused on diversifying the local economy base but also aims at building alliances and boosting cooperation with Arab and African countries, especially when Riyadh hosted several Arab and African summits that reflect the Kingdom’s keenness to enhance friendly relations with the countries of the African continent, taking them to greater levels and establishing a fruitful partnership in various political, economic and development fields.
Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr and around 300 businesspeople and investors from the two sides attended the inauguration ceremony of the forum.
