GASTAT: Unemployment rate for Saudis decreased to 8.6% ‎during Q3‎

Estimates of the Labor Force Survey of the General Authority for Statistics revealed a decrease in the unemployment rate for Saudis to 8.6% in the third quarter of 2023, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the second quarter of the same year, and a decrease of 1.3 percentage points compared to the third quarter of 2023. 2022 AD

GASTAT explained that the total unemployment rate in the Kingdom for (Saudis and non-Saudis) reached 5.1% during the third quarter of 2023, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the second quarter of the same year, and a decrease of 0.7 percentage points from the third quarter of 2022.

The Saudi labor force participation rate decreased slightly by 0.1 percentage point, reaching 51.6%, a decrease of 0.9 percentage points from the third quarter of 2022. The ratio of Saudi workers to the population also decreased by 0.2 percentage points, reaching 47.2% compared to the second quarter of the same year, and a decrease of 0.1 percentage points compared to the third quarter of 2022.
