Wall Street opens higher on expectations that interest rate hike ‎cycle will stop

Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Friday after data indicating slowing job growth reinforced expectations that the Federal Reserve has finished raising interest rates, while Apple shares fell on weak expectations for fourth-quarter business results.

According to Reuters, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 149.75 points, or 0.44%, to 33,988.83 points.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened up 16.45 points, or 0.38%, to 4,334.23 points, and the Nasdaq Composite index increased 68.66 points, or 0.52%, to 13,362.85 points.
