The main indices on the Wall Street Stock Exchange opened higher today, Friday, as investors evaluated the hawkish statements made by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and awaited important economic data scheduled to be released next week in search of indicators of the path of monetary policy.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 128.88 points, or 0.38 percent, at the opening to 34,020.82 points.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened up 16.80 points, or 0.39 5, to 4364.15, while the Nasdaq Composite index gained 49.74 points, or 0.37 5, to 13,571.19 points.
