Vice Minister of Human Resources Heads the Kingdom’s Delegation in Islamic Meeting of Labor Ministers

Vice Minister of Human Recourses and Social Development for Labor Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain headed the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the 5th session of the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held in the city of Baku in the Republic of Azerbaijan during the period from 22 to 24 of this February.

The Chairman of the previous session, Dr. Abdullah Abuthnain, started the conference with the Kingdom’s speech by referring to the positive developments and results achieved in the Kingdom’s labour market and to the initiatives that focus on the professional development of national cadres and establishment of sectoral councils of skill in cooperation with the private sector that aims to planning and developing skills in 12 major economic sectors.

Dr. Abuthnain reviewed several initiatives related to issues of occupational health and safety and developing the work environment.

The Kingdom’s delegation has also participated in the opening of the General Assembly of the OIC Duty Center, in which the Kingdom was elected as Vice-President of the General Assembly of the Duty Center for a period of one year and Vice-President of the Executive Council of the Duty Center for a period of three years.
