Minister of Investment: 180 companies established regional ‎headquarters in Saudi Arabia

Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, confirmed that the Kingdom exceeded the target it set regarding the number of foreign companies that established a regional headquarters in the Kingdom, which was previously set at 160, indicating that the number reached 180 companies.

Al-Falih said in an interview with “Bloomberg” on the sidelines of the “Bloomberg New Economy” conference in Singapore, that there are some banks among these companies.

He added, “Our relationship with China is strong and improving over time. China is our largest trading partner and the largest importer of Saudi exports.”

In February 2021, Saudi Arabia announced plans to stop contracting with companies whose regional headquarters are not located in the Kingdom by January 1, 2024, to help create local job opportunities for economic diversification plans.
