The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced a partnership with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the World Bank (WB) as scientific partners at the Global Labor Market Conference, which is the first of its kind to be held in Riyadh between December 13 and 14.
These partnerships enhance the conference’s status and role in bringing decision-makers and stakeholders together under one umbrella, where ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo is scheduled to participate as a main speaker at the conference and will present his vision and analysis of the future of labour markets internationally, and highlight the challenges and opportunities facing the global labour market in the current phase.
The conference is the largest gathering of its kind, bringing together several labour ministers, the elite of CEOs and specialists from different countries of the world, heads of several international organizations, business leaders and major investors, who will participate in 40 sessions with 150 speakers with the participation of about 2,000 figures from 40 countries.
The participation of these keynote speakers is expected to contribute to enriching the conference, providing valuable insights to participants on current and future challenges facing the global labour market, and enhancing cooperation and exchange in this field among participating countries and institutions.
The conference will focus on eight main tracks: The most prominent influences and directions in the global labour market, skills and productivity, modern work patterns, policies and legislations related to labour markets and methods of its development, the impact of technical development on the future of labour markets, countries’ experiences in restructuring the labour market, equality concept, and work environment.
