“Biofach 2023” is considered one of the largest international specialized exhibitions for promoting and marketing investments in agriculture and organic products.

It serves as a focal point for major investors, distributors, suppliers, and solution providers in the global organic products industry. The event offers interested parties the opportunity to explore international experiences in organic agriculture and stay abreast of the latest technologies in this field.

Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture for Agriculture, Dr. Suleiman Al-Khatib, emphasized that the ministry’s sponsorship of the exhibition is aimed at supporting the organic products sector, which is experiencing significant development in the Kingdom.

This support, he said, is evident through the efforts of the Saudi Organic Farming Association (SOFA), contributing to the increased consumption of organic food.

Dr. Al-Khatib noted that organic farming in the Kingdom witnessed significant local growth and development in 2022.

The total organically cultivated area reached 23,315 hectares, with 512 organic farms and an overall organic plant production amounting to 95,298 tons, he said.

Dr. Al-Khatib also indicated that organic livestock production increased in the past year, with 3,740 heads of sheep and goats, 610 heads of cattle, 450,000 eggs, 27 tons of honey, and 400 tons of milk products.
